Winter Warmers #1 – Double Boat Pose

Two children in Double Boat Pose (Navasana)
I have been really enjoying the changes in the season lately, with cooler mornings and darker evenings, It has been luffly snuggling up under the covers and listening to the rain on the roof. Sleep ins have been easy. But whilst it may be nice to snuggle and sleep, we need to remember to stay active.

Here are some real winter warmers my little yogis enjoy that helps keep there blood pumping and there brains awake. A great way to get activated and motivated before school.

Double Boat Pose (Navasana)

Sit down opposite your partner with knees bent and holding hands. Take three easy breathe in and out together.

When you are steady and awake, Lean back together pulling on each other gently. Now tighten your stomach muscles as you lift one foot up then the other pressing them onto your partners.

Push your legs and feet together, pull gently on each others arms and push your feet towards the sky.

Sing “Row Row Row your Boat” or see how long you can hold your balance by counting down.

When you have stretched and squeezed those tummy muscles let go hands and squeeze your knees into your heart and give yourself a warm cuddle. You must feel so proud of yourself.
